Trendy vs. Traditional : All’s Fair in Love and Wedding Accessories

First, let me welcome YOU to the wonderful world of Wedding Accessories.

Now, we’re not merely talking here about flowers and garters, or even gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

No, there’s much MUCH more, my friend. So, sit tight. It’s gonna be a ride!

Whether you’re going the Trendy route or the Traditional route, you’ll soon discover a thousand varieties of wedding accessories in either style. In fact, you’ll come across some quirky ones too! (Hey, whatever tickles your fancy!)

Take Anne, for example. Anne was raised a Presbyterian and always dreamed of a traditional wedding: white bridal dress and gown, huge white wedding cake and all the traditional ‘trimmings’.  When she met her Mister Right, all that changed. And it was reflected in the unique style and personality of both her and her fiancee: a statement-making gown, a green eco-friendly themed wedding reception, and unusual and trendy wedding favors for all!

Before you start pulling at your hair in frustration, let me set you at ease.

Sure, there’s a wonderful world of wedding accessories that awaits you. You needn’t decide on ANYTHING now. So here’s my advice:

Until and unless you know what’s available out there for you in the wide, wide world of wedding accessories, you’ll never quite cherish the possibilities.

In this blog, Wedding Inspirations, I hope to pool many of the resources out there from yonder Webspace and from magazines off the rack, and present them here – in all their glossy-picture glory – for your perusal.

I love what the writers at Weddingstar.com wrote in their latest edition of their top-notch bridal magazine of the same name:

Here are a few basic “Planning Rules” that will help to guide the process:

  1. Wedding Planning is like marriage … approach it as a team.
  2. Focus on what is really important
  3. Punctuate your wedding planning with ‘wedding free’ outings where the subject is our of bounds
  4. Don’t PROCRASTINATE…. it will only add anxiety and disappointment to the planning process.
  5. Enjoy! There will never be another time like this!
